Welcome to Virgil Officer Counselling Service
Prior to becoming a qualified counsellor I worked in education for 12 years in teaching and management roles.
I took my first steps into counselling in 2017 and I am now, a qualified Person-centred counsellor with an in-depth understanding of Psychodynamic theories and practices. I am fully insured and Being a black male counsellor has allowed me the opportunity to gain experience engaging with a diverse range of cultures and social groups. I am registered member of BACP, I received my BA Hons in Counselling from Middlesex University.

Entering counselling can feel daunting and bring anxiety, but you don’t have to face it alone. I am here to support you every step of the way on your journey.
I engage with individuals from various backgrounds, cultures and life experiences, each bringing a unique set of challenges to address. This includes working with young people in education and in the counselling setting.
As a fully-qualified and insured counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.

Understanding the meaning we give to life-events can be difficult and at times may leave us with the feeling of uncertainty, rejection, anxiety and depression. This can be draining, mentally and emotionally, while trying to juggle our everyday lives. There could be aspects of these internal and external challenges we are looking to overcome but it can seem overwhelming knowing where to start.
As a counsellor my aim is to create a safe, confidential space where exploration of thoughts, feelings, and experiences can take place. We will progress at a pace which feels comfortable to you and without the weight of expectation or the feeling of being judged. I believe my role as a counsellor is to facilitate and support the growth of the client, and to aid the client to develop the skills and strategies to reach their full potential.
People have come to counselling seeking support with a variety of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
